CO2 & NOx Emission Reduction Pump
Strict emission regulations like Euro 6 and US Tier 2 Bin 5 have lead to the deployment of Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) technology for heavy duty, and even passenger, diesel-powered vehicles. SCR dramatically reduces CO2, NOx and particulate matter in exhaust gases. SCR technology transforms harmful vehicle exhaust gases into harmless nitrogen and water.
Allied Motion engineers worked closely with a pump manufacturer to develop specialized compact brushless DC motors to drive a highly integrated motor-pump used in SCR systems.
Material Handling Carts & AGVs
Material movement in factories and warehouses is becoming easier and safer with the advent of robotic material handling carts. Often referred to as AGVs (Automated Guided Vehicles), these semi-to-fully autonomous vehicles have become increasingly popular, especially in automated warehouses, as their control and drive systems have advanced in capability.
Allied Motion engineers have developed several wheel drive systems, including powered integrated wheel drive casters and transaxles in both brush and brushless DC versions that are used for both primary drive in AGVs and for power assist service in pushers, tuggers, and material handling carts.
Patient Transport Equipment
Developers of a new-concept patient transfer bed – a motorized gurney with a built-in transfer belt that enables a single caregiver to transfer a patient within a medical facility without having to physically lift the patient – sought Allied Motion's assistance to motorize the 1400 lb. bed. Two traction drive wheels, a steering drive and two height adjusters were needed.
Allied Motion responded with custom versions of our EnduraMax brushless integrated motor-drives for traction and our Endurance brush DC-based gear motors for the steering and height adjustment.

All powered medical access and mobility equipment like the stair lift shown here is expected to operate quietly and reliably over many years of numerous daily cycles. That’s why the manufacturers of this type of equipment demand rugged, reliable motors that are also quiet.
Allied Motion's brush DC gear motors in both right-angle and parallel-shaft versions have been engineered into equipment like residential and commercial stair lifts applications.
Allied Motion's line of brushless DC motors includes the EnduraMax™ family of integrated motor-drives, and the INB/NB family of smaller frame, rare-earth motors.
The EnduraMax is currently offered in two frame sizes, each offering a choice of drive type: iDrive or sDrive. iDrive models incorporate drive electronics that enable torque, speed and/or position control of the motor, whereas the sDrive models incorporate a patented, sensorless drive that enables high performance variable or fixed speed operation. EnduraMax brushless DC motors are best suited for commercial and industrial applications such as AGV vehicle traction or steering, medical patient-handling equipment, mobile HVAC blowers and fans, rotary and linear actuators, and material handling systems.
Our INB series includes two small frame size versions that utilize rare-earth magnets for high torque density and incorporate Hall commutation sensors as standard.
Allied's NB series are small frame, mil-aero design brushless DC motors that utilize samarium-cobalt magnets and ball bearings that enable operation at elevated temperature.
