  • Material Handling Carts & AGVs

    Material movement in factories and warehouses is becoming easier and safer with the advent of robotic material handling carts. Often referred to as AGVs (Automated Guided Vehicles), these semi-to-fully autonomous vehicles have become increasingly popular, especially in automated warehouses, as their control and drive systems have advanced in capability.

    Allied Motion engineers have developed several wheel drive systems, including powered integrated wheel drive casters and transaxles in both brush and brushless DC versions that are used for both primary drive in AGVs and for power assist service in pushers, tuggers, and material handling carts.

  • Powered Pusher/Puller Cart Assistant

    Small, powered pusher and tugger vehicles are being used increasingly in commercial and industrial settings for their productivity gains, and the worker safety and injury reduction they afford.

    Allied Motion’s custom-designed gear motors provide manufacturers of these types of vehicles with the highly reliable and durable traction drives they demand.

Allied Motion offers two series of power differentiating transaxles and one dual-drive unit that can function as a transaxle with zero-turning radius. In this product category Allied Motion also has available standard fully integrated powered wheel drives in our WheelMax™ series.

The TAA series is our standard-duty transaxle with up to 0.3 HP output power and a load-carrying capability of up to 544 kg (1200 lb).

Our TAB series is our heavy-duty transaxle with over 1 HP output power and load-carrying capability up to 907 kg (2000 lb).

The DDA dual-drive model is capable of ⅓ HP continuous output power and has a load-carrying capacity of up to 454 kg (1000lb). A highly useful feature of the DDA is its zero-turn radius capability.

Allied Motion’s WheelMax™ integrated wheel drives are engineered for use as traction drive systems for electrically powered vehicles. Each compact WheelMax combines a wheel with tire, an epicyclic gearbox, and a brushless DC motor with integrated drive electronics, all in a compact, ready-to-mount unitized assembly. Two WheelMax models are currently available, the smaller of which carries up to 227 kg (500 lb) while the larger unit will handle up to 454 kg (1000 lb).

Our transaxle, DDA, and WheelMax units are designed primarily for use in mobile electric vehicles such as medical mobility equipment, utility and warehouse carts, AGVs and other robotic material handling equipment. Custom versions of these units can be engineered to meet your exact requirements.
