Allied Motion's CP-300 series encoder is a small, rugged encoder with a square package form factor that is identical to that of a 39 mm stepper motor. The CP-300 series is available in both incremental and absolute encoding versions.
The CP-300 has a die-cast aluminum housing and a duplex bearing system. Standard versions have a stainless steel 0.25-inch (6.35 mm) diameter shaft. The light source is a single light emitting diode, and the sensor is a monolithic silicon array. Resolution of up to 2,048 counts per revolution (8,192 measuring steps) is available for the incremental models, and up to 10 bits per revolution for the absolute models.
